Fear Factory is located near downtown Salt Lake City and is visible from Interstate-15 – just watch for the cement towers with painted murals to the east of the freeway. You can’t miss it!
Fear Factory Attractions
Occupying six buildings, the Fear Factory experience takes you up to six stories high, and leads you over suspended catwalks (with handrails) and through two underground passages. All the while, expect the unexpected: jump scares, loud bangs, creepy live actors (I mean monsters), realistic animatronics, and well-done, appropriately-themed sets.
For added adrenaline, there is even a zipline ride from the top of the tower, thrills of a Fear Fall (free-fall), and a VR experience that you can add on to an already awesome evening of entertainment*.
*Due to COVID, these add-on special events are not being offered but we will update this page once they bring them back into operation.
Things to Know Before You Go
- Every person must sign a waiver to participate. You can complete your waiver for yourself or minors online in advance.
- The walk-through event takes about 45-60 minutes to get through.
- Plan to wear good footwear, as there are several flights of stairs. Sandals, heels, or loose shoes are strongly discouraged.
- Parental discretion is advised. Fear Factory SLC does not require a minimum age, but they recommended that anyone 12 years old or younger have an adult accompany them through the attraction.
- Parking may be limited, especially on weekends. See below for details.
- For individuals with mobility impairments, Fear Factory has created an accessible route. See below for details.
- No ticket refunds.
Parking
Parking is available on any surface city street near the property, closest to their 800 South entrance. Avoid parking under the nearby overpasses.
Alternatively: Take the Free Zombie Bus
The Zombie Bus is a Halloween attraction in its own right and is quite the unique way to start your Fear Factory experience. The Zombie Bus offers free roundtrip transportation to and from The Gateway mall. It’s like a party bus that is fully decorated, and plays all your Halloween music favorites to get you pumped up for the real deal.
The Fear Factory Zombie Bus picks up/drops off every 30 minutes at the south end of The Gateway, starting approximately 15 minutes after opening time, and ending 30 minutes prior to closing time on all operating nights.
Accessibility
Fear Factory is housed in a historic building constructed in the 1800s, prior to the standards of the Americans With Disabilities Act. Because of this, not all areas are, or can be made, accessible to some individuals with mobility impairments. Fear Factory SLC has, to the extent possible, created an alternative accessible route, however this route cannot safely include all areas of the attraction. Additionally, these alternative routes may not be available on all days or at all hours of operation. If the alternatives are not available, a voucher will be offered.
